These are two fundamentally different approaches, and it is important to understand the distinction between them.
With nail extensions, the technician creates artificial length by building an additional layer on top of the natural plate. With gel strengthening, a thin layer of gel is applied directly onto your own nail without adding any length. The natural plate continues to grow under the protective layer — the shape can be refined, but the foundation remains entirely yours.
Strengthening is a less invasive treatment that preserves the natural appearance of your manicure.

Contraindications
The technician performs a visual inspection of the nails before every treatment. Gel strengthening is not performed in cases of:
